What Al-Waseet Is
Al-Waseet is an Iraqi delivery company, registered with the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce and built by young Iraqi founders. It moves goods and express mail between all Iraqi governorates, and has grown into one of the country's recognised local shipping names.
It works with merchants day to day: parcels are picked up from you, delivered to your customer, and the money is collected at the door. Al-Waseet runs its own apps for merchants and for senders, so your parcels stay visible on their side as well as yours.
Deliveries are within Iraq only, which is exactly the point. This is a local company that knows Iraqi addresses, and it is built around the way Iraqis actually buy online.
What You Can Do
Send Orders With One Click
Open an order, choose Al-Waseet, and the delivery is created. The customer's name, phone number and address go across automatically from the order you already have.
You can also select a batch of orders and send them all at once at the end of the day, instead of handling them one by one.
Collect the Money at the Door
Cash on delivery is how most customers in Iraq pay, and it is handled for you.
If the order has not been paid for online, your store tells Al-Waseet exactly how much to collect from the customer, in dinars. If the customer already paid on your website, nothing is collected. The courier never turns up asking for the wrong figure.
Print the Receipt
Print the Al-Waseet receipt for any order straight from your orders screen. It carries the QR code the courier scans, so your parcel is ready before anyone arrives to collect it.
Keep the Tracking Number on the Order
Every delivery comes back with its Al-Waseet number, and your store keeps it on the order. When a customer calls to ask about their parcel, you have the number in front of you and can look it up in your Al-Waseet merchant account without hunting through paperwork.
Say What Is in the Parcel
Set a default package size and a default description of your goods, and they are sent with every delivery. Useful when you sell one kind of product and the same description fits every parcel.
Cities and Regions Are Matched for You
Al-Waseet delivers by city and region. Your store matches what your customer typed at checkout to the right place on Al-Waseet's map, in Arabic or English, so your customers keep writing their address the way that feels natural to them.
If an address is unusual and cannot be matched, you can set a default city and region so the order still goes out rather than getting stuck.
Getting Started
- Open a merchant account with Al-Waseet.
- In your store, add a new delivery method and choose Al-Waseet.
- Enter your Al-Waseet username and password, and save.
- Set a default city and region as a safety net, then send a test order to check the connection.
Delivery Charges
You decide what your customers pay for delivery. Set your own shipping prices by city or area in your store, exactly as you do today, and keep offering free delivery above a certain order value if that is how you sell.
What Al-Waseet charges you for the delivery itself is agreed separately with them and settled on your invoice, since the final fee for a parcel is known after it has been delivered.
