One Account, Every Courier
Signing a contract with a courier takes weeks. Signing with four takes a month and leaves you with four dashboards, four sets of prices, and four places to look when a customer asks where their parcel is.
OTO is one account that gives you all of them. Your customer sees a real delivery price at checkout, you press one button when the order is ready, and the parcel goes out with whichever courier suits it best.
What OTO Is
OTO was founded in 2019 in Riyadh by Mohammad AlRazaz and Muhammad Furkan Uzar, and opened to merchants in March 2020. Rather than running delivery vehicles of its own, it sits between online stores and the courier market and handles the connection to each one.
In July 2024 it raised an $8 million Series A led by Sanabil Investments, part of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, bringing its total funding past $11 million. It connects to more than 250 shipping companies and commerce platforms, about twenty of them direct courier partners including Aramex, SMSA, Naqel, DHL, FedEx, UPS and Careem, and it is used by over 10,000 brands across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Turkey.
For you that means one set of account details instead of one per courier, and a new courier becoming available without any work on your side.
What You Can Do
Show Live Prices at Checkout
When a customer enters their address, your store asks OTO what the couriers charge to deliver to it, and shows the price before the customer pays.
You are not guessing. You are not absorbing the difference on an order that turned out to be heavier or further away than you assumed. The price is quoted for that address, that weight and that basket, and it is shown in the currency your customer is browsing in.
If no courier covers the address at all, the delivery method quietly disappears from checkout rather than promising a delivery nobody can make.
Decide Which Courier Ships the Order
OTO usually comes back with a dozen prices. Your customer should see one.
You choose the rule in your delivery method settings: always the cheapest, always the fastest, or always one courier you name. Whichever you pick is the price the customer is charged and the courier the parcel goes out with, so the two never drift apart.
If you would rather let customers choose for themselves, add one delivery method per courier and pin each one. They will appear side by side at checkout with their own names and their own prices.
Send Orders Early, Book the Courier When You Are Ready
These are two separate things at OTO, and your store keeps them separate on purpose.
As soon as an order is paid it is sent to your OTO dashboard, where it joins your pick and pack list. Nothing has been booked and nothing has been charged. If the address is wrong or the phone number is missing, you find out immediately, while the customer is still easy to reach.
Booking the courier is a decision you make. Press Dispatch on the order and only then is a courier assigned and your OTO balance used. An order that gets cancelled the same afternoon never cost you a shipment.
If you would rather not have orders appear in OTO until you ship them, turn the early send off in the settings.
Collect Cash on Delivery
Cash on delivery is still how a large share of customers in the Gulf prefer to pay, and it is fully supported.
If the order was not paid online, your store tells OTO exactly how much to collect at the door. If the customer already paid on your website, nothing is collected. You never work the amount out yourself, and couriers that cannot handle the cash amount on that particular order are left out of the prices your customer sees.
Print the Air Waybill
Once a courier is assigned, the air waybill is available from the order. Print it, stick it on the box, and hand the parcel over.
Follow Every Shipment Automatically
As soon as OTO or the courier updates a shipment, your store finds out. An order moves to "In Delivery" when it is collected and to "Delivered" when it reaches the customer. If the parcel comes back, the order shows that too.
Every update is kept on the order, so when a customer calls to ask what happened, the answer is on the screen in front of you. You do not refresh anything or open a second website.
Cancel Before Collection
If a customer changes their mind before the courier collects, cancel from your store. The order stays with you and can be sent again later, or with a different delivery method. Once the parcel has been picked up it is on its way and no longer cancellable, which is the courier's rule rather than ours.
Addresses Are Matched for You
OTO delivers by city, and your customers type city names the way they say them, in Arabic or in English. Your store matches what they typed to the right city on OTO's list, so nobody has to pick from a dropdown of hundreds of entries.
Cities that sound alike are not treated as the same place. Riyadh and Riyadh Al Khabra are three hundred kilometres apart, and an order for one will never be sent to the other. If an address genuinely cannot be matched, you can name a fallback city so the order still goes out.
About the Tracking Number
OTO assigns the courier a moment after you dispatch, not instantly. For that short window the order shows a stand-in tracking number, made from your order number, and it turns into the courier's real number by itself. Nothing is required from you, and the customer sees the real number by the time the parcel moves.
Getting Started
- Create an account at OTO and connect the couriers you want to use.
- In the OTO dashboard, open Settings, then Developers, then API Integrations, and copy the refresh token it generates.
- In your store, add a new delivery method and choose OTO. Paste the token, choose the city you ship from, pick your courier rule, and save.
- Press Test. A green badge means your store and OTO are talking to each other.
- Copy the link your store shows you, add it as a webhook in your OTO dashboard, and put the same secret key in both places so delivery updates come back automatically.
You can place a test order right away to see the whole path end to end.
Delivery Charges
The price your customer pays is the price OTO quotes for that address, under the rule you chose, so you are not absorbing the difference on any order.
What the delivery itself costs you is settled with OTO, from the balance on your OTO account. Your store never books a courier without you pressing Dispatch, so nothing is spent on your behalf.
Who It Suits
OTO is a good fit if you sell in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf and:
- You want customers to see a real delivery price rather than a flat rate you guessed at
- You would rather have one account than a contract with each courier
- You ship to cities where the courier that serves them best is not always the same one
- You want to decide order by order which parcels are worth shipping today
If you sell in other countries, your store also supports other delivery companies, and you can run more than one delivery method side by side.
