Guessing shipping prices costs you money in both directions. Charge too little and every international order eats into your margin. Charge too much and the customer leaves the cart.
With Aramex connected, your customer sees what Aramex actually charges for their address, in their own currency, before they pay. When the order comes in, you send it to Aramex from the same screen where you manage everything else.
What Aramex Is
Aramex was founded in 1982 in Amman, Jordan, by Fadi Ghandour and Bill Kingson. The name is short for Arab American Express, and the idea was simple: the Middle East had no local courier that could handle international shipments properly, so they built one.
It grew into the region's largest courier. In 1997 it became the first Arab company to list on NASDAQ, and it has been listed on the Dubai Financial Market since 2005, with its headquarters in Dubai. In July 2025 Abu Dhabi's ADQ completed the acquisition of a majority stake, bringing Aramex into its transport and logistics group.
Today Aramex moves parcels and freight by road, air and sea, with its own network across the Arab world and delivery further afield through its partners. For you that means one account that covers both the customer down the road and the customer on another continent.
What You Can Do
Show Live Prices at Checkout
When a customer enters their address, your store asks Aramex what that delivery costs and shows the answer straight away. No fixed table to maintain, no price that drifts out of date.
If you sell in more than one currency, the price is converted into the currency the customer is shopping in, so they never see a figure they have to work out for themselves.
Offer More Than One Speed
You can quote several Aramex services side by side and let the customer choose: priority express for parcels, document express for papers, or a slower option where it makes sense. The customer picks the one that suits them and pays for it at checkout.
Send Orders With One Click
Open an order, choose Aramex, and the shipment is created. The customer's name, phone number and address go across automatically from the order you already have.
You can also select a batch of orders and send them all at once at the end of the day, instead of handling them one by one.
Print the Air Waybill
Print the Aramex waybill for any order straight from your orders screen, ready to stick on the box before the courier arrives.
Let Customers Track Their Parcel
Every shipment comes back with an Aramex tracking number, and your store turns it into a tracking link. Customers follow their own parcel on Aramex instead of emailing you to ask where it is.
Ship Locally or Internationally
Aramex handles both. Use their domestic service for orders inside your own country and their international express service for everything else, and switch between the two as your selling changes.
Decide Who Pays
Delivery can be charged to your account, collected from the receiver, or billed to a third party. Set it once and every shipment follows the same rule.
Where Aramex Delivers
Aramex covers the whole Gulf, the Levant and North Africa, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Palestine and Yemen, along with the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Pakistan and India.
If your customers are spread across several of those countries, one Aramex account serves all of them.
Getting Started
- Open a merchant account with Aramex and ask them for your delivery API access.
- In your store, add a new delivery method and choose Aramex.
- Enter the details Aramex gave you, pick the branch your account belongs to, and save.
- Leave test mode on and place a trial order to check the prices look right, then switch it off.
You can also set a default box size so quotes stay accurate for the products you usually ship.
Delivery Charges
The price your customer pays is the price Aramex quotes for that address, so you are not absorbing the difference on any order.
What Aramex charges you for the delivery itself is agreed separately with Aramex and settled on your account with them.
Who It Suits
Aramex is a good fit if:
- You ship outside your own country and need prices that are right for every destination
- You sell across several Arab countries and would rather have one delivery partner
- Your customers expect to track a parcel the way they would with any international courier
- You want customers to pay the real shipping cost rather than a flat rate you guessed
If you sell in one country only, your store also supports local delivery companies, and you can run more than one delivery method side by side.
