What do marketplaces take from every order?

Marketplace commission per month
A flat monthly subscription, however much you sell
Noon reaches this country, but sellers register a store in the UAE and sell cross-border rather than holding a local seller account. The commission rate is the same; the registration path is not.
These are guideline estimates based on published marketplace rates. Your actual rate varies by subcategory, seller tier and any deal you have negotiated, so always check the commission schedule in your own seller account.
How we calculate this
No hidden numbers. Here is the whole calculation.
Marketplace cost
Average order value × orders × commission rate. Some marketplaces set a minimum commission per order, which we apply to the single order before multiplying out.
Your own store cost
The Trinavo monthly subscription, and nothing else. We take no cut of your sales, so this figure does not move however many orders you get.
Three genuinely different models
Confusing them is what costs merchants the most. Each takes from you in a different way.
Marketplaces
Noon, Amazon, Jumia
Take a cut of every sale. Usually no monthly subscription, but the more you sell the more you pay. The customer belongs to the marketplace, not to you.
Store platforms
Salla, Zid
A fixed monthly subscription with no commission on your sales. Payment gateway fees are separate. The customer is yours.
Trinavo
Your own store
The same subscription model: we take no cut of your sales, and you start on a free-forever plan. You pay gateway fees directly to your payment provider, as with any own store.

- Trendyol takes its commission from the price before VAT, so the real cost is slightly lower than it looks next to a marketplace that charges on the VAT-inclusive price.
- Hepsiburada takes its commission from the VAT-inclusive price, and VAT is then added to the commission amount itself.
- n11 adds a 1% marketing service fee and a 0.67% marketplace service fee on top of the category commission. Neither is included in the figures above.
The figures shown are the ranges published by the marketplaces themselves, and the calculator uses the typical rate within each range. Check the commission schedule in your seller account for your exact rate.

Most successful merchants run both. Marketplaces bring you ready traffic; your own store gives you a better margin plus ownership of the customer and their data. The calculator shows you the order volume at which your own store starts to deserve real attention.
