What Is EdfaPay?
EdfaPay is a Saudi payment company that helps businesses accept payments online, in store and through payment links. Its online checkout takes the cards and wallets Saudi customers already use, and charges everything in Saudi riyals.
For an online store, EdfaPay provides a secure payment page: your customer is sent there to pay, then comes straight back to your store. You do not handle card details yourself, and you do not need to build anything.
Key Features
- mada: Accept the national debit network that most Saudi shoppers carry. For many customers in the Kingdom, mada is the first card they reach for.
- Visa and Mastercard: Take international credit and debit cards on the same page, so visitors and customers with foreign cards can still buy from you.
- Apple Pay: Let customers pay in a couple of taps on their iPhone. EdfaPay hosts Apple Pay on its own page, so you need no Apple account or certificates; you only ask EdfaPay to switch it on.
- One Hosted Payment Page: Every method appears on one secure EdfaPay page, with 3-D Secure handled for you. There is no separate setup for each card type.
- Saudi Riyal Payments: Payments are charged in Saudi riyals, which keeps your accounts simple.
- Refunds from Your Dashboard: Refund an order from Trinavo and the money goes back to the customer's card through EdfaPay.
- Test Before You Go Live: EdfaPay gives you a test dashboard and test cards, so you can run through the whole checkout before a real customer sees it.
Built for the Saudi Market
Shoppers in Saudi Arabia expect to pay with mada, and a growing share pay with Apple Pay on their phones. A checkout that only takes international cards turns many of them away at the final step.
EdfaPay puts these methods together on one page, so the customer simply picks the one they were already going to use. For a store selling in the Kingdom, that is often the difference between an abandoned cart and a completed order.
Supported Regions and Currencies
EdfaPay operates in Saudi Arabia and charges in Saudi riyals. It is a strong fit for any store whose customers are in the Kingdom. If your store is priced in another currency, Trinavo converts the order total to riyals using your exchange rates before sending the customer to pay.
Integration with Trinavo
Trinavo provides a native integration with EdfaPay. Your store is ready for it out of the box: there is nothing to install, no developer to hire, and no custom work to commission.
To connect it, open your payment settings, choose EdfaPay, and paste the API key from your EdfaPay dashboard. You can keep a test key and a live key side by side and move between them with a single switch, so you can try the whole flow before going live.
Your store then shows you one web address to copy into your EdfaPay dashboard. EdfaPay uses it to tell your store about payments, so even a customer who pays and closes the page straight away still gets their order confirmed. Your customer is sent to the EdfaPay page, pays with mada, a card or Apple Pay, and comes back to your store. The order is confirmed automatically, and every payment appears in your Trinavo dashboard alongside your other gateways.
Security and Compliance
The EdfaPay payment page keeps card details away from your store entirely, which removes a large part of the compliance burden that would otherwise sit with you.
Before an order is marked as paid, your store checks the payment directly with EdfaPay, including that the amount paid matches the order. The order is only marked paid once EdfaPay confirms the payment was approved, which means nobody can mark an order as paid by tampering with the page they land on. You can also set a secret in your EdfaPay dashboard so your store can make sure every notification really came from EdfaPay.
Getting Started
Open a merchant account with EdfaPay and create your test and live API keys in their dashboard. Then open payment settings in your Trinavo store, select EdfaPay, paste your keys, copy the address your store shows you into EdfaPay, and you are ready to take payments.
If you sell to customers in Saudi Arabia, EdfaPay gives them the payment methods they already use. Your Trinavo store is already prepared for it, so turning it on is a matter of minutes rather than a project.
