What Is deema?
deema is a buy now, pay later (BNPL) service from Kuwait, licensed by the Central Bank of Kuwait and Sharia-compliant. Shoppers split a purchase into interest-free instalments, and the merchant receives the full amount from deema. It works online and in physical stores, and more than 1,000 merchants in Kuwait offer it.
How It Works for Your Customers
- The customer chooses deema at checkout.
- They are taken to deema's page, confirm their phone number with a one-time code, and pick their instalment plan.
- Once deema approves the purchase, the customer returns to your store and the order is marked as paid.
Supported Regions and Currencies
deema serves Kuwait and charges in Kuwaiti dinar (KWD). If your store sells in another currency, Trinavo converts the order total into KWD using your store's exchange rates before sending it to deema.
Integration with Trinavo
deema is built into Trinavo's payment methods, so there is nothing to install and no code to write. You connect your own deema merchant account, and the payment goes straight from deema to you.
The integration covers:
- Checkout: deema appears as a payment option at your checkout.
- Payment confirmation: Trinavo confirms each payment through deema's notifications, the customer's return to your store, and regular status checks, so an order is not left pending if one of them is missed.
- Refunds: refund a deema order in full from your Trinavo dashboard.
- Sandbox mode: test the full flow with your deema sandbox key before going live.
Getting Started
- Join deema as a merchant: apply on the deema business page. deema reviews applications in one to two business days, then asks for your business documents.
- Add your API key: in your Trinavo dashboard, open Payment Methods, choose deema, and enter the API key deema gives you. Keep Sandbox Mode on while you test with the sandbox key.
- Connect the webhook: copy the Webhook URL shown in the deema settings in Trinavo. In the deema merchant portal, open Settings, then Webhooks, add that URL, and choose a secret header name and value. Enter the same header name and value back in Trinavo.
- Go live: switch Sandbox Mode off and enter your production API key.
