Just Ask Your Store
Every store owner has the same three or four questions running through their head all day. How much did I sell this month? What is about to run out? Which orders still have not gone out? Which product is actually making me money?
The answers have always been in your store. Getting them out meant knowing which report to open, which filter to set, and how to read the result. So most owners check the easy numbers daily and the important ones almost never.
Connect ChatGPT or Claude to your store and you can simply ask. You type the question the way you would say it out loud, and the answer comes back from your own live figures — not an estimate, not last night's export, and not a number you have to go and verify.
It takes about a minute to set up, it is read-only, and you decide exactly what it is allowed to see.
What You Can Ask
Once connected, your assistant can answer from twelve areas of your business. In practice that covers almost everything an owner asks in a normal week:
Sales and revenue
- "How much did I sell this month?"
- "Compare this month with last month."
- "Show me the sales trend for the last 90 days."
Orders and fulfilment
- "Which orders have not been sent yet?"
- "Find the orders from this customer."
- "Are we falling behind on delivery?"
Stock
- "Which products are about to run out?"
- "What should I reorder this week?"
Profit and cost
- "What did I actually make last month after expenses?"
- "Which products have the best margin?"
Customers and traffic
- "Who are my best customers?"
- "How many people visited the store last week?"
You do not have to phrase any of it precisely. Ask it the way you would ask a member of staff, follow up with "and the month before?", and it keeps the thread.
Setting It Up
The connection is made once, from your admin panel, and it takes three steps.
- Copy your store address. In your admin panel, open Users → ChatGPT & Claude access, then press How to connect. Your store shows you a web address ending in
/mcpand a button to copy it. - Add it in ChatGPT or Claude. Open the assistant's own settings and look for connectors — in Claude it is Settings, then Connectors, then add a custom connector; in ChatGPT it is under Settings, then Connectors. Paste your store address there.
- Approve it in your store. The assistant sends you back to your own store to confirm. You sign in with the same password you use for your control panel, tick what you are happy to share, and press Approve.
That is it. The next question you ask is answered from your store.
If you get stuck on the middle step — every assistant moves its settings around from time to time — our team will walk you through it. It is a normal support request and it takes a few minutes.
You Choose What It Can See
The approval screen is not a formality, and it belongs to your store rather than to the assistant. It lists exactly what you are about to share, in six separate groups:
- Sales figures and revenue
- Orders
- Products and stock
- Customers as numbers and totals
- Individual customer details, such as names and phone numbers
- Expenses and profit
Everything is ticked by default, because this is data you already look at in your panel every day. But the group holding personal customer detail is deliberately kept separate from the rest, so you can untick that one and still share all your business figures. Many owners do exactly that.
What you decide is enforced every single time the assistant asks a question, not just on the day you connected. Untick something and it is never returned, no matter how the question is worded.
Read-Only, by Design
An assistant connected to your store can only read. It can never write.
It cannot change a price, edit or cancel an order, adjust your stock, touch a customer record, or alter a single setting. There is no mode, prompt or phrasing that unlocks this — the ability simply does not exist on the connection.
This is the part worth understanding before you connect anything, and it is why connecting is a low-risk decision. The worst an assistant can do is tell you something you already had access to.
Numbers That Say What They Mean
An assistant that quietly guesses is worse than no assistant. Your store's connection is built so the figures mean something specific:
- Revenue means paid, non-refunded orders. Not the optimistic total that includes refunded ones.
- Profit means after your recorded expenses, and it is labelled differently from profit before them.
- When the underlying data is thin, it says so. If you have not recorded the cost price on most of your products, any margin it reports is overstated — and it tells you that rather than presenting a flattering number as fact.
You get the same figures you would get from your reports, described the way an accountant would describe them.
One Store, One Connection
Each connection is tied to one store, and the store is identified by its own web address — never by something the assistant fills in. That is a deliberate security decision: it means no prompt, no pasted text and no product description can ever talk your assistant into reading a different store's data.
If you run more than one store on Trinavo, you add one connector per store. Each keeps its own approval, its own permissions and its own history.
Only the Owner Can Connect
Connecting an assistant is an owner-level decision, because the figures it returns cover the whole store.
For the same reason, vendor accounts cannot connect one. On a multi-vendor store, a vendor connection would hand one supplier the entire store's revenue. It is refused at approval, at sign-in and on every request after that. Vendors continue to see their own sales in their own vendor pages.
Ending It Takes One Click
Your admin panel keeps a list of every assistant you have connected, showing what each one is allowed to read, who approved it, and when it was last used.
Disconnect any of them and access stops immediately — on its very next question, not at the end of the day. To use it again, it has to be approved again from scratch. Nothing lingers.
Your store also watches for credentials being used in ways they should not be. If a connection's credentials are ever replayed or reused after being rotated, the whole connection is revoked automatically rather than left running quietly.
Why This Beats Exporting a Spreadsheet
Most owners answer these questions today by exporting a file and opening it in a spreadsheet. That works, but it has three problems: the export is stale the moment you download it, the answer takes ten minutes instead of ten seconds, and a copy of your customer data is now sitting in your downloads folder.
A connected assistant reads live, answers in seconds, and copies nothing. And because it is a conversation, the follow-up question — the one you would never bother re-exporting for — costs you nothing.
The Bottom Line
This feature turns your store into something you can question directly. No report to find, no filter to configure, no export to open. You ask in your own words and you get an answer from your own live figures.
It is read-only, it is scoped to exactly what you approve, it is limited to one store per connection, and you can end it in one click. Setting it up takes a minute, and if the assistant's own settings screen gives you trouble, our team will do that step with you.
