Cart Removal Lock

Steps in this tutorial

1. In this tutorial, we will set up the cart item removal lock feature. This prevents customers from removing items after a set period.
2. Navigate to the Settings section in the sidebar.
3. Click on Cart to open the cart settings page.
4. This is the Cart Settings page where you can configure cart behavior.
5. Click the Removal Lock tab to access the lock settings.
6. Enable the cart item removal lock feature by turning on this toggle.
7. Set the number of hours after which items become locked. We will set it to 1 hour for this demo.
8. Click Save to apply the settings.
9. Now let us visit the store to see the feature in action.
10. Click on a product to view its details.
11. Add the product to your cart.
12. Now go to the cart page to see the countdown timer.
13. Notice the countdown timer next to the item. It shows how much time is left before the item becomes locked.
14. After the lock period passes, the item can no longer be removed from the cart.
15. The delete button is now replaced by a lock icon. The customer cannot remove this item.
16. Back in the settings, you can also choose which user levels are affected by the lock.
17. Select specific user levels to apply the lock, or leave it empty to apply to all users.
18. You can also override this setting for individual users. Let us go to the Users section.
19. Edit a user to see their cart lock settings.
20. Click the Cart Settings tab to see the per-user override.
21. Each user can be set to System Default, Disabled, or Enabled - overriding the global setting for this specific user.
