Watch this tutorial to learn how to: Customer At The Counter.
Steps in this tutorial
- A counter sale is anonymous by default. Let us put a name and a phone number on this one.
- Start the sale as usual: tap the product to put it on the ticket.
- Add customer sits at the top of the ticket. Tap it to record who is buying.
- Type the phone number. It does not matter how it is written: spaces, dashes and a country code all find the same person.
- Nobody matches, so you can save this buyer without leaving the counter. The number you typed is already filled in.
- Add their name, so you know who they are next time.
- Press Save customer. Nothing is added to your customer list until you press it, so a mistyped number costs you nothing.
- They are on the ticket now, and in your customer list. This sale will be filed under their name.
- Take the money exactly as you always do.
- Press Charge again to finish the sale.
- Done. The receipt carries their name, and so does the order in your records.
- Now the part that pays off later. Start a fresh sale.
- On their next visit, type the same number.
- There they are. From now on you only have to pick them, and the sale goes onto their record.
- The customer you saved at the counter is a real customer in your store. Search for their number here.
- There they are, added from the counter without anyone touching the admin panel.
- And the sale itself is filed under them in Orders, like any other order.
- That is how a walk-in becomes a customer you can recognise, reach and reward.
