Steps in this tutorial

1. This is the homepage slider that ships with a fresh install - three demo slides rotate here by default.
2. Welcome to this tutorial on managing the homepage slider from the admin panel. Let us replace the demo slides with our own.
3. Open the Modules menu in the sidebar - that is where add-on resources live.
4. Inside the Modules panel, expand Marketing and Content.
5. Now click Slider Items to open the homepage slider list.
6. Here are the three demo slides we just saw on the storefront. Let us remove them first.
7. Tick the header checkbox to select every demo slide at once.
8. Open the Bulk actions menu to act on the selected rows.
9. Choose Delete to remove the selected slides.
10. Confirm the deletion in the dialog.
11. The demo slides have been removed. The list is now empty and ready for our new slide.
12. Click the create button to add a brand new slider item.
13. This is the slider item form. We will upload an image, write a short message, and customize a couple of visual effects.
14. Start by uploading the background image for the slide.
15. Now enter the title that will appear on top of the slide image.
16. Under Layout Overlay, pick a gradient style - this softens the image and makes the text easier to read.
17. Under Image Filters, raise the dimming so the slide blends nicely with the rest of the page.
18. Save the new slide.
19. The slide has been saved. Let us go back to the storefront to see it live.
20. Here is our new slide on the homepage - image, title, overlay, and dimming all working together.
