Steps in this tutorial

1. Welcome. In this tutorial you will create a discount coupon, a code your customers type at checkout to take money off their order.
2. Open the Modules panel to reach every section of your store.
3. Coupons live under Marketing and Content, together with your pages and offers.
4. Click Coupons to open the list.
5. This is your coupons list. It is empty right now, so let us add the first one.
6. Click New coupon to open the form.
7. Start with a name that reminds you what this offer is. Only you see this, never the shopper.
8. This is the code the shopper types at checkout. Keep it short and easy to spell.
9. Set how much comes off, as a percentage of the order. Fifteen here means fifteen percent off.
10. Choose the day the offer stops working. Leave this empty and the coupon never expires.
11. Cap how many times the coupon can be used in total, across all your customers.
12. Open Scope and Restrictions to set the conditions the order must meet.
13. Require a minimum order total before the code works. This keeps a big discount off a very small basket.
14. Click Create to save the coupon.
15. The coupon is saved and working. Your customers can enter this code at checkout right away.
16. The status column switches a coupon off and back on, so you can pause an offer without deleting it.
17. That is your first coupon. Come back any time to change the discount, extend the date, or switch it off.
